work in progress

a milestone/ first ideas for the organ-classroom and the tower/ all sketchy and with elements of the process/ dynamics is one concept/ organisms is the other/ biology and transformation/ choice of favorite of the children shown on sections/ it might be you/ the designer is definitely more than one of them

collaborative session between students and children

the last collaborative session/ the point where children educate adults/ there is no need for education to educate/ proof!/ an attempt to create user lead architecture/ a block game and a collage as an intrigue/ an agenda of questions/ all answered/ not clearly/ children have a special way to give answers/ they just propose their reality/ one that everybody should learn of

rationale/ design strategy/ precedents/ massing model

there is rationale even in the most Utopian places/ Utopia is a state of mind/ does anyone remember Alice?/ has anyone read 'Der Steppenwolf'?/ the most strategic state is the one of organized chaos/ hence the precedents/ sustainability is present/ so is the initial massing model

bayards hill primary school/ site analysis

the estate of Barton is situated on the Headington round about at the north east of Oxford/ the physical boundaries of this area is the M40 highway on the south side and unbuilt green fields on the other sides/ there is more in the actual site analysis/ that is boundaries

project 4/ Bayards Hill Primary School

proposal C - complete reconfiguration

How can the school be completely reconfigured to create an 'openness' both to the community and for the children and staff?

This is the most extensive scheme. It will consider the broadest possible context of 'site' and may well extend out into Barton or beyond. It may be a series of annex type buildings which operate a dispersal proposal for the school, its pupils, teachers and associated staff. It is important to take a sustainable approach to this and consider the potential future of the existing buildings and what might be saved from them. 'Which of the existing buildings are valuable and why?' might be a useful point of departure, as well as how might they be redeployed?

This proposal might be considered initially as an urban design scheme. It will consider issues such as the problem of the school and the estate's social and physical isolation. It may also examine a utopian agenda for the school.
